Born 7 May 1958, Coventry, UK.

1976–1981: St Bartholomew’s Medical School, University of London, UK, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). During this time he discovered acupuncture and wanted to integrate it into Western medical practice.

1981: House Surgeon, Hastings Royal Hospitals, UK.

1981: Interviewed by Professor JR Worsley and accepted into the LicAc training programme. Moved to the Midlands to be nearer the College of Traditional Acupuncture (CTA), Leamington Spa, UK.

1982: House Physician, Cornwall Hospitals, UK.

1982–1987: Anaesthetist, Leicester Royal Infirmary, UK. Awarded Diploma in Anaesthetics (DA) from the Royal College of Surgeons, London, UK.

1985: Qualified with LicAc from the College of Traditional Acupuncture (CTA).

1986: Awarded Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DRCOG) from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, London, UK.

1987: Awarded Certificate of General Practice, UK.

1987: Married Sue, who was also a medical practitioner.

1988: Moved to Malvern, UK, left anaesthetics and general practice despite being offered a prestigious family doctor partnership, and established the Clinic of Classical Acupuncture full time.

1988–1993: Director and Lecturer of Western Medical Training at the College of Traditional Acupuncture (CTA), integrating anatomy, physiology, and biology of disease into the curriculum.

1988–2019: Regularly hosted Professor JR Worsley and later Judy Becker Worsley at his clinic for consultations.

1989: Bachelor of Acupuncture (BAc).

1993: Master of Acupuncture (AcM).

1997–2003: Participated in the original Master Apprentice Program (MAP)℠ after receiving a personal invitation from Professor JR Worsley to support JR and Judy's work in carrying this system of medicine forward.

1998: Completed Teacher Training (Basic)℠.

1999: Completed Teacher Training (Advanced)℠.

2000–2018: Medical Advisor to the British Acupuncture Council.

2003: Opened Beacon Clinic, Malvern, UK, with his wife Sue as a centre for complementary healthcare. Sue later left mainstream medicine and trained in Five-Element Acupuncture at the School of Five Element Acupuncture, London, UK, qualifying in 2005. They continue to practise alongside one another and share review consultations of patients.

2010: The UK General Medical Council introduced requirements in evidence-based medicine and teaching training to maintain membership. He subsequently completed a Master of Science in Western Medical Acupuncture (2014) and a Master of Health and Medical Education (MHMEd) (2017), both with distinction, through Hertfordshire University.

2019–2020: Master Apprentice Program (MAP)℠, UK.

2024: Hosted an open day on Worsley Classical Five-Element Acupuncture™ at Kemerton Acupuncture Clinic, Tewkesbury, UK. Since then, he has taught for WIT UK℠ and WIT Tao China℠ through both online and in-person teaching.

History:

Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela.

1991: Diploma as a Licentiate in Translation and Interpretation, School of Modern Languages, Universidad Central de Venezuela (Spanish, French, and German).

1991–1993: Worked as a translator, secretary, and language teacher in Caracas, including positions with Asea Brown Boveri, Bayer de Venezuela, and the Goethe Institute.

1993–2007: Travelled through Europe and later settled in Greece. Worked in several fields including travel agencies, online first aid support for travellers, restaurant ownership, and beer importation.

2008–2015: Studied at the European Shiatsu School, now the Oriental Medicine and Shiatsu Training School. She received the Advanced Shiatsu Therapy Diploma. Chinese Medicine theory was part of the professional Shiatsu curriculum and deepened her interest in holistic medicine and acupuncture. She has practised Shiatsu professionally since 2009.

2014: Completed Scuba Diving Training and became a PADI Dive Master.

2015–2019: Worked seasonally as a Dive Master on various Greek islands.

2021–2023: Studied acupuncture through several schools while seeking a deeper understanding of the medicine and clinical practice. After meeting Mark Gessler, LicAc, her teacher in Worsley Classical Five-Element Acupuncture™, she found an acupuncture system that deeply resonated with her. She now practices Five-Element Acupuncture.

2021–2025: Completed Yoga Teacher Training (500 RYT – Yoga Alliance).

History:

Born 29 August 1947, Augusta, GA, USA.

Raised in Coral Gables, FL, USA.

1965: Coral Gables High School Diploma.

1969: Washington University, St. Louis, MO, USA, Bachelor of Arts.

May 1969 – September 1970: traveled Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.

September 1970: After her mother died, settled and wanted to remain in Miami with father. Entered law school.

Summer 1972: Although she pursued the JD and was offered prominent positions in Miami law firms, she encountered the field of acupuncture and traveled to California in search of a school or teacher. She was not drawn to any of them. In September 1972 she heard about Professor JR Worsley and enrolled in the Licentiate Program beginning in April 1973.

April 1973: Early graduation from University of Miami, Doctorate of Jurisprudence (JD).

1974: Fascinated with Worsley Classical Five-Element Acupuncture™, moved to Oxford to intern and earned LicAc from CTA.

1975: Became one of the two Directors of the Oaken Clinic, Eynsham, Oxford, with Julia Measures. Also commuted regularly to Leamington Spa to assist JR in all his teachings—both in Oxford and Leamington Spa.

1978: Moved to Leamington Spa. Director of Clinical Studies at Professor Worsley’s College of Traditional Acupuncture (CTA). JR honoured her with the only Fellow degree he ever awarded. Sir Alec Douglas-Home surprised her by presenting this to her at the annual CTA awards ceremony.

1983: After earning a Bachelor of Acupuncture (BAc) and Master of Acupuncture (MAc), she earned the Doctorate of Acupuncture (DAc) from CTA.

1984: After JR’s first wife Ellie passed away, JR and Judy began their intensive tours of the USA doing consultations in over 25 locations per year.

1988: Co-founder with JR: Worsley Institute of Classical Acupuncture (WICA).

1996–1997: Co-founder with JR: Master Apprentice Program (MAP)℠; Worsley Inc (1997), Worsley Intellectual Property Trust.

2019: Started Spirit of Points joint presentations with Heiner Fruehauf.

2024: Started teaching in China in the WIT Tao China℠ program.

2025: Founder, with WI, of the Leadership in Training (LIT)℠ program.

Current extra projects: Book about JR Worsley; Film about JR Worsley.

Resides:

Church Hill Farm, her and JR’s home in Burton Dassett, Warwickshire, UK, where she is devoted to maintaining a smallholding focused on providing a home for rescued animals, wildlife preservation, and respect for eco-living.
